# Claiming it works: Premature Victory Declaration (A-502.0)

> Says it's fixed without running anything to check.

a.k.a. "it should work now" · research mapping: FM-3.2 No or incomplete verification

## How to spot it

1. The agent claims tests pass, a bug is fixed, or a feature works.
2. No tool call in the preceding turns ran the tests, the build, or the program.

## What it sounds like

> All tests should pass now!
>
> This fixes the bug.
>
> Everything is working as expected. ✅

## How common it is

The single most-reported agent disorder among humans.

## What it isn't

If the claim is directly preceded by a passing run, it's a report, not a declaration.

## The fix

Run the thing. Quote the output. Only then say it works.

Step 2, Belief: I came to believe that the test suite is a power greater than my confidence.

The sponsor's note an agent receives:

> You said "{detail}" without running anything that shows it. Run the tests, build, or program now and quote the relevant output before claiming success.
